COMMISSION (part V) Marvel Legends (Axwell Tiberius) Monkeyman

Axwell Tiberius commonly known as Monkeyman is an awesome figure to play and has been an extraordinary figure to paint. Full of possibilities and details I've choose to put "limit" this mold in favour of a more realistic finish. The sculpt of this character is fantastic!!!

To get a complete Monkeyman you have to purchase the full wave.
The original colors of the Axwell Tiberius figure makes it a very luminous character so in the decision of paint him like a real life gorilla he takes a darker look. The clothes was painted with different black finish (leather jacket is different than the pants or gloves). And the armored shoulder pads are painted in a military grey look. The hair and skin reflects different tones depending of the light focus like a real life gorilla. I´m very pleased with this effect. The mouth was also repainted to seems like living flesh.

Bracelets have different buttons and screens with different colors and images.

Now breathe deeply my friend... you're alive!

Guardians of Celeres

When the Warhammer 40.000 6th edition came out, a new space marine chapter was illustrated among the most know. The Guardians of Celeres was used as example but nothing more was written about them. So when I bought the "new" space marine squad (I bought it with a friend because the EXPENSIVE price of this sprues, five for him and five for me) I thought on painting them with this color scheme.

They were mounted simulating that all of them wears an old MK VI armor but along the battles many pieces have been replaced. So I used the two Corvus armor helmet for troops and the rest were mounted with human heads but adding them a MK VII helmet on the back.

In addition to this squad, a Captain was mounted using a MK III Forge World components and remaining pieces from the sprue. The original illustration for the Guardians of Celeres is an space marine equipped with a flamer and wearing a MK III armor and a MK VII helmet so this Captain keeps reminiscence with the illustration.

The sergeant of the squad wears a mixture of armors. The legs are from a MK IV, the chest its from a MK VI but with a winged skull plaque (that's why it seems to be a MK VII chest), and the helmet on his back it's a MK VII.

The troops pieces has been combined among them to look more "Corvus". One of the guys without helmet wears the only shoulder pad with pins available in the sprue (GW, you can take all the purity seals, combi weapons and shits like that and put it into your nurglesque ass) and the other wears the more similar MK VI chest plate.

COMMISSION (part IV) Marvel Legends Dr Strange

Of the several figures my friend R. commissioned me to customize this Marvel Legends Dr Strange was the first on be started and the last on be finished. I was blocked with it... I don't know what was happening with this concrete character. Now,  well, thinking wisely and been open to other possibilities I´m almost sure that Stephen Strange him self from another dimension was guiding my steps on painting his figure.
"You are looking at me but you should take look inside yoursef..."
The shirt color was changed from the original blue to a greenish finish but with a deep blue on the bottom that's only perceptible when the light reflects properly. A soft dark green on the pants it's almost imperceptible but I assure you it's there. The cloak it's from another figure and has been painted to match with the character.

My fingers, your eyes... Tears guaranteed!
Leonidas cloak! That's vintage!!!
I know your secrets...
I'm Stephen Strange. You killed my father, prepare to die!

As a final appointment, I just to hope that my friend get as satisfied as me with the result of this work.

And, of course, thanks to Doctor Stephen Strange for his wise guidance (Regards from this dimension!)

The Purge (Part II) Terminator Squad Regulus

Back in 2012 I published the first entry about The Purge, the nurglesque renegade chaos warband. At the end of that entry (that's in spanish only, sorry) I said that in the next entry dedicated to The Purge I'll show this Terminator Squad that I now introduce.

Terminator Squad Regulus with sargeant Honorius Regulus at the center

Terminator Squad Regulus was one of my first steps with the plastic Chaos  Terminator sprue as a whole because previously I was still working with metal miniatures. Well maybe this could be weird but I always work with years of difference from the norm.

"The things I do for fun" (Chapter 1) Transformers: Devastation GROUND SOLDIER (Blue)

In the Transformers: Devastation video game, the classic Battlechargers Decepticons were re-designed and used to represent Decepticons Ground Soldiers. This are the guys you will face constantly in the various scenes of the game.

Work on G1 figures it's always fun and this case has been easy and effective. For this Ground Soldier I have used a G1 Runamuck figure (the white one).

I have selected two main blue colors, one of them is a grey / blue for the bodywork that I think that fits better for the toy than a light blue (it's like the "dark" colors of the Stunticons). For the cristal I have used a bright yellow that contrast with the blue.

Grimlock's T-Rex arms are useful than mine!
