Blast from the past! (Part 3) Yoda on Dagobah

An ancient Jedi master stands alone on a planet where the life grows wild on a half way between the light and the dark...

Well, everyone knows about Yoda and his fate so I've tried to show some wisdom and determination on his gaze through the paintwork. In this "deleted scene" Yoda is crossing an small river over a wood. The faith moves mountains and the wisdom of this Jedi helps him to cross a river... Nothing more to said.

"Tomatoes, Soy sauce, Garlic, Toilet paper... What to buy have I is that"

Death Guard (Part II) Chaos Lord Mierdus

The Chaos Lord Mierdus is one of those figures that you build bored on a summer afternoon with no expectation about him but mix pieces trying to get some fun... That's exactly what I did about fourteen years ago and once finished I forgot about his existence for almost seven years... I remember to find him and thought "what a piece of shit! Why did I put him an open hand for leg?!!! This is ridiculous!..." But hey! Wait a second... There must be something fun to do with him.... Then I built a base with a fallen Imperial brother and the rest was a question of paint.

Lord Mierdus of the Death Guard

I like to paint Death Guard marines on his original white color scheme (see Death Guard part I) because the high contrast you get with the green mutations and somethings like that. With Lord Mierdus I decide to paint a half of the body in dark greens and marks on the skin like he was "half blessed" for the Papa Nurgle.

BEEEEEEEEER!!!

The fallen guy of the base was painted in a Dark Angel color scheme and the rest of the base is like fresh mud getting with this wet characteristics to tell a little story (Brother Zipotiel from the Dark Angels has faced Lord Mierdus in close combat but the Nurgle servant kills him with his scythe and now stands victorious over the victim)

"Tell the Emperor I love him..." Brother Zipotiel last words

One of my hands is bigger than my head...

Blast from the past! (Part 2) Kratos from God of War

Another figure of Neca turn into statue. This time Kratos, from the God of War franchise. Like in the previous "Blast from the past!" entry (featuring: Pirates of the Caribbean's CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow) the arms of this figure has been fixed in a position and one of the hands can be exchanged for another. The "regular" position of Kratos have a pair of swords in his hands, in the other option he holds the Medusa head.

I do not remember much more about what I did on this figure far from the work on the base or the skin / tatoos paint :-/

For any unknown reason the guy who took this pictures for me, shoot the most of them on a diagonal position.... I've corrected the most of them so now you have not to turn your head to see them properly. Some are darker than others (an artistic expresion, I suppose) and the quality is "whatsapp" low because he said that there was no need on connect the terminal on the computer to download the pictures... (seen this pictures now seems that he was right...)

Meanwhile, I'm still working on several commissions and personal projects...

Blast from the past! (Part 1) Jack Sparrow

I've adopted the "Blast from the past" name of the Gamma Ray 2000 compilation album where they re-recorded some classical themes of the band. I've rescued some pictures of various commission works I did in the past. Among them I'll show figures form the Hasbro Star Wars line, Neca, Marvel Super Heroes...

For the "part 1" I've choose a Neca CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow action figure from their Pirates of the Caribbean line. This figure was repurposed as statue fixing the position with glue after an arm was broken (sadly a very common design mistake in these figures where the material used for the joints was very fragile and cracks easily when you try to articulate them). The paint work quality of the most of the Neca's figures it's very good so I only try to "upgrade" this with slightly details such inks in the clothes to give them more realism or paint the skins.

The base simulates beach sand so now Jack can feel like home. The figure comes with some accessories, a hat and a hand gun that can be removed and changed in the figure as shown in the pictures so Jack can be exposed in two or three different situations.

Daemon Prince Perturabo and Iron Warriors Tolai squad / Iron Warriors (part 1)

Years ago I posted an entry call "No quería yo... quedarme con las ganas de..." where I talk about some old squads and figures that I was working on at that time. Among these squads there were pictures of Iron Warriors, World Eaters, Blood Knights (Knights of Blood), Skulltakers, a Disciples of Destruction chaos lord, a Magnus the Red interpretation and a Minotaurs Captain at the Forge World style. More than three years later I've, finally, decided to introduce this Iron Warriors squad.

Commanded by the sergeant Tolai, this five man squad has consecrated their will to Khorne. The warriors were composed with different pieces from the Chaos Warriors, Space Marines and Berserkers sprues available in the early 00s. All of them were painted in a basic Iron Warriors scheme but avoiding the use of yellow and black stripes that this legion uses in their weaponry. I did it because I wanted a more primitive and barbarian look on them leaving the use of the stripes for another figures equiped with a more complex armament. I got an effect of blood on the chainsaws and some parts of the armor using liquid black and red paint mixed with gloss varnish. I think that all of them looks very aggressive and dynamic, even in the more static poses. The bases were painted simulating some kind of hangar floor, that's because if you see them as a whole you can imagine that the squad is aboarding an imperial space ship or industrial complex.

Tolai Squad ready for boarding!!!
Sergeant Tolai screams like a little boy but fights like a man, oh yeah!
Carl Aculus, the guy of the plasma pistol.
Bhan Hanus enjoys fighting in the name of Khorne with his cool Corvus helmet.
Jason "Scarskull"
Toko Mocho "The Wild"

My Perturabo as Daemon Prince interpretation is based on a McFarlane toys figure modified with pieces of skelleton warriors and Chaos Space Marines. I imagined Perturabo as a Daemon Prince without wings, infected with some kind of technological virus and with pieces of his old armor over his main body.

I feel a perturbation in the force... I mean, the empyrean.
The skin of the primarch was painted in a sick paleness tone but the armor maintains the original metallic color of the legion. The base was decorated with technological rusty items and cables and a green viscous oil over a black mud.

This shoulder pad depicts an interpretation of the Iron Warriors banner as seen in the Realm of Chaos "Slaves to Darkness" book.
